NCIS Cote de Pablo Departure Rumors
Twitter was exploding last night over a rumor about Cote de Pablo leaving NCIS, so I have scoured the internet again, trying to search for clues. I have uncovered a few things that will hopefully put your minds at ease tonight. First of all, and I found this a couple of days ago and thought nothing of it, Cote de Pablo‘s contract was last signed in April 27th of 2011 for two more years. At the time it was reported that her contract doesn’t run out at the same time as some of the other NCIS stars. Mark Harmon also signed on for two more years at that time. Since Mark Harmon’s NCIS contract was signed in February, fans have been waiting to hear about the rest of the cast. David McCallum’s contract was signed last year, after Season 9 ended, however. Each of the stars have a different time frame on their contracts, but I understand why fans would worry.
Rumors of Cote de Pablo leaving the show have been circulating since Ziva David left back in Season 6 at the behest of her father. When Tony found her, being held captive and beaten, everyone expected the two NCIS Special Agents to get together as a couple. So far, since this has not happened, the fans worry that it may never happen!
For the fans on Twitter, the breaking point seems to be hinging on an Ask Ausiello column posted on March 12th, 2013.
Question: Any news yet on whether Cote de Pablo has/or will sign her contract to remain on NCIS? —Linda
Ausiello: Only that her castmates “hope that’s the case,” Brian Dietzen tells TVLine. “I’m optimistic,” he added. “But who knows? All I know is that everyone has been pretty close for a long time, and [no one] is unhappy on the show. If the cast doesn’t stay intact, I don’t think it’ll be because, ‘Oh, we don’t want to be here.’ It’ll be because of other opportunities or something. But hopefully we don’t discuss that for a while because the show is going really, really well, and people enjoy working on it. I know I’ll be there next year!”
The NCIS fans want to hear the truth from Cote de Pablo herself, but as much as I searched, all I could find was proof that she is happy where she is. In January she did an interview with TV Guide in which she answered some great questions such as the biggest practical joker on set. She also appeared on Rachel Ray and sounded as though she had no intentions of leaving the show, at least until the climactic Tiva episodes fans have been waiting for.
